The new memorial plaque unveiled on 30th April 2007 - The inscription reads:

"This is the site of the village school where,

on 23rd August 1944, during a severe storm,

an American bomber crashed with the loss of 61 lives."

This included 38 children, 2 teachers and

21 civilians and service personnel.
