Following the  recently discovered image from  Australia, of the "Sad Sack" Snack Bar, owned by the Whittle family, another souvenier image has now come to light showing the staff together with  Sgt Joseph M. Elim  in front of the premises - clearly showing the high regard that servicemen held of the cafe. 

 Sgt Joseph M. Elim from Springfield MA was a supply Sgt at Bad 2 who regularly flew with 1st Lt. John A. Bloemendal and had fond memories of Lancashire, Freckleton Warton Air depot and the Sad Sack Bar.
