A pre-war postcard of School Corner, Freckleton clearly shows how the scene looked before the disaster, with the Infant's wing to the left of the school building. This card was kept and annotated by the late Sgt Joseph M. Elim from Springfield MA who was based at Bad 2 with the Eighth Air Force and who regularly flew with 1st Lt. John A. Bloemendal. He  had fond memories of Lancashire, Freckleton Warton Air depot and the Sad Sack Bar.
